We couldn't have asked for better weather - it was bright and sunny although very chilly. As soon as we started riding, I don't think anyone was cold! The West Side Highway and FDR were blocked off one-way for traffic-free riding and the views were spectacular! Unfortunately, I was not as fit as I'd been telling myself I surely would be by October, and I was just getting over a nasty sinus infection that had been lingering for the past couple of weeks, so I wasn't in my best form. I really struggled to keep going, forget taking cool pictures which many others were. I ended up crossing the finish line as many of the 55-milers came breezing in, so not really an impressive showing, but I was so happy to be there.
Thank you so much to everyone that so generously donated to my fund-raising efforts - this was by far my most successful effort from any MS event, and it was really heart-warming.
I am already looking forward to doing this all again in 2013 when I'm totally confident I will be in GREAT shape, right?
